On Tuesday, September 10th, Masibambane High School (Kraaifontein) was buzzing with excitement as CoolPlay hosted a truly unforgettable sporting afternoon.
A star-studded line-up of Laureus Ambassadors, including Cheslin Kolbe, Wayde van Niekerk, Natalie du Toit, and Jean de Villiers, joined us to inspire the next generation of athletes. The selection of the site for this event was led by Cheslin, who grew up in Kraaifontein and since recently launching his own Cheslin Kolbe Foundation is stepping into purpose.
Fifty CoolPlay participants from Kraaifontein and a girls rugby team from Cloetesville gathered to enjoy an afternoon of fun centred around rugby drills and life skills – proving that CoolPlay is SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST SPORT.
Our life skills theme for the day was communication and keeping calm under pressure. The Laureus Ambassadors shared their personal stories and valuable insights, helping the participants develop essential skills for both sports and life.
Special thanks to the French Consul General, Sophie Bel, for joining us and experiencing the power of sport for development. With PURA Soda ensuring that everyone was kept cool and hydrated throughout the day.
From all of us at CoolPlay, we want to express our deep gratitude to Cheslin, Wayde, Natalie, and Jean for their incredible inspiration. With a big thank you to Laureus for entrusting us with such an amazing opportunity and feeding all our Cool Kids.
